Barbourville is a southeastern Kentucky town of approximately 4000 people. Located in Knox County, it was one of the first areas explored by Daniel Boone after he crossed the Appalachian Mountains via the Cumberland Gap. Many Court Reporting firms will not travel to Barbourville as it is considered too far off the beaten path. Big Blue Reporters frequently takes depositions and video depositions in Barbourville and has found its quiet charms to very relaxing. The town is full of history. In 1861, it was the site of Kentucky’s first Civil War skirmish and the famous battle is reenacted every year in September during the Living History Days festival. Barbourville is also home to the Daniel Boone Festival each October.
After a day of long depositions there is nowhere better than Roy’s Wildkat Korner or B&B Burgers to stop in for good meal. An attorney from out of town would probably benefit from getting to know the locals who frequent these excellent establishments.
Union College is located in Barbourville, allowing prospective students of the area the opportunity to not have to travel all that far to get a quality education. Not just a place for tourists and visitors, homemakers will also find much to love in Barbourville.
If you are lucky enough to have a deposition in one of the first cities West of the Appalachians we hope that you will invite Big Blue Reporters to join you there.
